• This board uses "wands," which are magnetic sticks. Avoid waving them over credit cards. They are stored in a pocket on the side of the board. Please return them when finished.

t0201a - Go

Game Description

Play the classic strategy game of Go, where players place colored balls (black or white) on a grid to surround more territory than their opponent.

• Age: 8+
• Time: 5-20 minutes
• Players: 2 (or 1 vs. AI)

Game Rules

Players alternate placing balls to capture territory or opponent’s pieces by surrounding them. Liberties (empty adjacent points) keep pieces alive.

• Each player chooses a color (black or white).
• Black plays first. Place one ball per turn on a grid intersection.
• Capture opponent’s balls by surrounding them with no liberties.
• The game ends when both players pass. Score by counting surrounded territory and captured pieces.

Game Setup

Clear all balls from the board, sorting them by color into separate bins. Select “Start Game” to initialize the board.

Game Play

• Use the wand to place your colored ball on an empty grid intersection.
• Aim to surround more territory or capture opponent’s balls.
• Pass your turn when no beneficial moves remain. The game ends after consecutive passes.

Game Description

Connect4 is a two-player game where players drop colored balls into a vertical grid, aiming to connect four in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).

• Age: 6+
• Time: 5-10 minutes
• Players: 2 (or 1 vs. AI)

Game Rules

Players take turns placing one ball in a column. The first to connect four balls in a row wins.

• Each player chooses a color (red or yellow).
• Players alternate dropping one ball into a column, where it falls to the lowest empty space.
• No skipping turns. A column can’t be played if full.
• The game ends with a win (four in a row) or a draw (board full).
